Faux Rock Rose Egg by Glori305 Faux Rock Rose Egg by Glori305
Another easter egg (I know, you all are shocked)

The bit of blue you see peeking out from behind the roses is a mix of Premo! and Kato, the faux stone is all Premo! Done over a chicken egg shell.

This was an entry into the Easter Artisan Craft contest and took 2nd place. All the entries here [link]

Thanks, one of the very few things I have made that came out just about as I saw it in my head, which is why it is my favorite.

Oh, it's pretty, such delicate petals. I don't know much about Premo--is it very breakable?

Actually, my 4 year old picked this one up and tossed it, hit the wall, bounced down the stairs, hit the landing...just fine. Premo is pretty durable, Kato is more so, but also more expensive.

Ah the joys of small children. XD My five year old plays with the plushies I make, testing em out for me--even if I don't want her to, so I know exactly what you mean. If it withstood that much though, I'm willing to bet it can withstand far more...."normal" wear and tear.

Hard to tell. I work on my clay stuff as I can, and with 2 kids, one with special needs, a husband and a full time job, that isn't alot. It was the project I was working on for about 2 weeks. If I had to hazard a guess, I would say in the 6 to 8 hour range, but I don't keep track.

The director of the gallery is preggers right now, I would expect after October (when she is due) we will see less stuff going on in artisan craft.

That's a great looking egg. I have a whole storage contained of polymer clay. I suck at it.

That egg was done after about 4 years of working with polymer clay. I sucked at first, now I have the hang of what it can and can't do.
